Studying academic outcomes for children with nonmainstream dialects
We are studying developmental relationships between oral language and reading in young diverse learners. We are concentrating on the impact of speaking and listening skills on literacy and academic outcomes for children who enter school speaking a dialect of English that is different from School English.
