We know that strong speech, language, and reading skills are fundamental to learning and school success. At UCLL, we offer individual therapy designed for children, youth, and young adults who experience problems understanding and using language. We are committed to maximizing our clients' abilities in language and speech so that they are able to reach their full potential and live fulfilled lives as contributing members of society. Children, youth, and young adults may exhibit one or more of the following diagnoses:
- expressive and receptive language disabilities
- phonological processing disorders
- social/pragmatic language challenges
- dyslexia
- specific learning disabilities
- auditory processing disorders (APD)
- apraxia
- oral motor difficulties
Individual therapy targets measurable goals in a one-on-one setting. An individual treatment plan is developed for each client based on the specific learning needs. Our intervention uses best practices in the remediation of language and literacy skills and may include computer programs designed specifically to address individual goals. Individual therapy can also be a supplement to any of our group programs.
Please contact UCLL if you have specific concerns about your child or to schedule therapy.
