About UCLL

The University Center for the Development of Language and Literacy (UCLL) at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor offers language and literacy services to adults and children from Southeast Michigan and beyond. Our programs include the nationally attended University of Michigan Aphasia Program (UMAP) for adults, the Preschool and Communication Therapy program (PACT), and a variety of programs that help families and individuals deal with these challenges:

UCLL's research program examines the relationships between oral language and literacy acquisition. For more than a decade, a major focus has been on improving understanding of the oral language and literacy skills of African American students.
